Superfood smoatmeal: Nettle

Some time ago my mother ordered a big package of different superfoods: chia seeds, nettle powder, lupine powder, dandelion powder and some more. I’m using the chia seeds since a long time already but today I decided to finally start using the other superfoods too! So today I added a little bit of the nettle powder to my smoatmeal and it really tasted amazing, I  would never have thought that just a little bit of it has such a big impact on the taste, I loved it! 🙂 

(some) benefits of nettles:

  • treats allergy symptoms
  • reduces inflammation
  • treats Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, asthma, bladder infections, bronchitis, bursitis, gingivitis, gout, hives, kidney stones, laryngitis, multiple sclerosis, PMS, prostate enlargement, sciatica, and tendinitis!
  • better hair

you need: 

  • 5 strawberries
  • 1/2 mango
  • 1 1/2 tsps nettle powder
  • 1/2 cup oatmilk
  • 4 tbsps soy yoghurt
  • oatsflakes and fruit as toppings

how:

  1. blend strawberries, mango,oatmilk and yoghurt until smooth
  2. now add nettle powder and blend again
  3. pour into a bowl
  4. top with oatflakes ( at least 3 tbsps!) and fruit

NOTE: the base (oatmilk, strawberries, mango, nettle powder, yoghurt) has only about 170 calories, so make sure to add enough fruit and oats as topping, I suggest to add 4 tbsps oats, 1 banana, 1/2 mango and a fig, tastes amazing! 🙂
