Only four days left til mother’s day, and still no present? This DIY is your lifesaver. It takes just five minutes, four things and you most likely have all of them already at home.

Nur noch vier Tage bis Muttertag und immernoch kein Geschenk? Dieses DIY ist deine Rettung! Es dauert nur 5 Minuten und braucht nur vier Dinge, die du wahrscheinlich schon Zuhause hast.

Your materials: a blank mug (with an optional saucer), a bowl, kitchen foil and nailpolish in your color of choice (I took old non-vegan nailpolish which I wanted to get rid of anyway)

Deine Materialien: Eine weiße Tasse (optional auch eine Untertasse), eine Schüssel, Alufolie und Nagellack in einer Farbe deiner Wahl (ich habe alten, unveganen Nagellack genommen, den ich sowieso noch loswerden wollte)

Step 1

Cover the bowl with the kitchenfoil, make sure that there are no holes. Fill the bowl with water.

Leg die Schüssel mit Alufolie aus, da dürfen auf keinen Fall Löcher drin sein! Füll dann die Schüssel mit Wasser.

Step 2

Pour some of the nailpolish into the bowl, about 4cm above the water.

Schütte etwas Nagellack in die Schüssel, ungefähr 4cm über der Wasseroberfläche.

Step 3

Dip the mug into the water , but not too deep! Spin it a little and take it out again, set it aside. You need to be quick because the nailpolish will “dry” on the water surface quite fast. If you want you can dip the handle in as well.

Tunk die Tasse ins Wasser, aber nicht zu tief! Dreh sie etwas, nehm sie dann wieder raus und stell sie zur Seite. Du musst schnell sein, weil der Nagellack sonst auf der Wasseroberfläche “trocknet”. Wenn du möchtest, kannst du auch den Henkel noch eintunken.
